"When there is no way out, you find a deeper way in!"

I was quite intrigued by the foregoing memorable quote, which came from a particular segment in the action thriller movie, 'The International', which I had watched on StarHub cable television last night.

In a nut shell, an Interpol investigator, played by Clive Owen, was going after an international bank apparently involved in terrorist activities through the financing of shady weapon deals as well as the murder of anyone who divulged secrets about the bank's nefarious activities.

I had thoroughly enjoyed watching the movie. The extensive shoot-out inside New York's Guggenheim Museum setting was quite a refreshing change in terms of action sequences.

In the particular movie segment, one of the lead villains was playing a game of chess at home with his son. He was then interrupted by an urgent phone call from one of his associates.

The associate had sought his advice as Interpol was closing in on the case.

That was when the father suddenly turned to his son, & posed the question as to what the son would do if he were caught in a 'No Way Out' situation. The son replied that he would find a deeper way in.

In fact, there was another memorable quote in the movie which also struck me. It came from another villain, who was unfortunately caught by the authorities during a surveillance.

While he was pondering about whether to blow the whistle on the bank, the Interpol investigator advised him:

"Sometimes, a man can meet his destiny on the road he took to avoid it."

Something to think about on both counts.
