DAILY BEST PRACTICES FOR MAXIMISING BRAIN POWER

June Davis, director of Aviv Centers for Living Shapiro-Rudolph Adult Day Center, offers the following seven strategies [nothing new actually, but worth reminding] as a guideline to daily best practices for all of us to help maximize our brain power:

◦ Continue to learn something new each day;

◦ Engage in life and social activities;

◦ Incorporate physical activity into your daily regime;

◦ Fuel your body and mind with good nutrition;

◦ Manage stress;

◦ Make sure to get a good night’s sleep;

◦ Enjoy cognitive exercises like crossword puzzles, trivia and reading;
